Took the day off today to hike the 18 mile Trail Around Middlebury (TAM), a series of trails that circle the town of Middlebury over both private and public land, through fields, forests of various ages, the Middlebury Golf Course, Wright Park, and down streets in down town Middlebury and Chipman Hill neighborhood. The TAM is maintained by The Middlebury Area Land Trust.
We started around 9AM, parked near the Middlebury Coop, then hiked clockwise. We made it to the Middlebury Golf Course club house by what felt like lunchtime, where we'd parked an extra car containing a cooler containing an extravagent buffet lunch on the deck overlooking the golf course. We continued on through the woods and fields, over the pasture, etc. and were back at the coop by I guess it was 3 ish, including many luxiourious stops.
This was our first time around. Will post other possibilities.
